When Governor McCrory and the NC legislature decided against expanding Medicaid coverage to 500,000 low-income North Carolinians, they not only hurt those individuals and families who would have benefited personally from quality, reliable health insurance, but they doomed the entire state to forgo the more than $380m that our economy would have generated as a result of the Medicaid expansion.
That is a big number. What does that look like per month? Per week? Per minute? Well, here is the amount we are loosing as a state since the beginning of 2014 as a result of the Governor and legislature.
